Reaching this side of the lake requires a 4x4 vehicle, with a journey of about one hour across rugged terrain, but the reward is truly unforgettable.
Along the way, you’ll pass through striking, salt-scarred landscapes where the land feels almost desert-like. As you approach the base of the mountains, the scenery transforms dramatically: fresh streams flow toward the lake, creating lush, green wetlands filled with life.
This area is a haven for wildlife. Large flocks of birds including pelicans, marabou storks, and flamingos, gather and nest here. You may also encounter zebras, giraffes, ostriches, gazelles, and wildebeests roaming freely across the plains.
